Length is the longer side of the opening, width the shorter, depth the height.

About the template

What you’re downloading

A flat layout (blank) for a corrugated box: four side panels in a row — length, width, length, width — with a glue flap on the end and flaps top and bottom. The style codes are from the FEFCO international fibreboard case code: 0201 is the everyday regular slotted carton, where the outer flaps meet in the middle; 0200 is the same with an open top; 0203 has full-width flaps that overlap completely.

The SVG and the one-sheet PDF are drawn at 1:1 for a cutting plotter, laser or print shop. The tiled PDF splits the template across Letter or A4 pages you can print at home, with a check square and a page map.

This is a starting-point template, not a production die. Each panel adds one allowance and the depth adds two, to make room for the board folding over itself. Box makers use their own allowances for the board grade and flute, so for a production run ask your supplier for their dieline. For a rigid box in plywood or MDF — a crate or a speaker cabinet — work from the inside instead with the speaker box volume calculator.

FAQ

Questions

How do I make a box template from dimensions?
Start from the inside length, width and depth. A regular slotted box (FEFCO 0201) is four panels in a row — length, width, length, width — plus a glue flap. Top and bottom flaps are half the width, so the outer flaps meet in the middle. Add a small allowance for the board thickness at each fold.
What is FEFCO 0201?
It’s the code for the regular slotted container (RSC) in the FEFCO international fibreboard case code — the most common shipping carton, with four flaps top and bottom where the outer flaps meet at the centre.
How big a sheet do I need?
The generator shows the flat blank size. For an RSC it’s roughly 2 × (length + width) plus the glue flap wide, and the depth plus the width tall.
Can I print it on a home printer?
Yes — download the tiled PDF, print at 100% (actual size), check the square on the first page measures correctly, then trim, overlap and tape the pages using the page map.
